Residents, staff and families at the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services’ Rainier School in Buckley donned tie dye t-shirts and sunblock for the annual Summerfest celebration on Aug. 17.
This year’s theme was based on Dr. Seuss’s book “Oh the Places You’ll Go.”
The event featured a parade with classic cars, resident decorated bicycles, golf carts, floats and mini horses.
Participants enjoyed live music and various street vendors selling their wares.
There were also games and a “splash zone” — an alternative to the usual dunk tank — which was still a welcomed reprieve from the nice summer sun.
Organizers did a great job planning a memorable event for residents, families and staff — and their work is appreciated!
